This Smith & Wesson Model 43 is a rare early Airweight .22 LR revolver, part of S&W’s lightweight Kit Gun lineage. Built on an aluminum alloy frame, the Model 43 was designed to be an ultra-light companion revolver for outdoor carry, making original examples increasingly difficult to find today.
Featuring a 3½-inch barrel, adjustable rear sight, and factory wood grips with silver S&W medallions, this revolver represents a short-lived and desirable chapter in Smith & Wesson history. The bright alloy finish and matching cylinder show light, honest wear consistent with age, while retaining strong overall eye appeal.
Due to durability concerns with early alloy cylinders, many Model 43 revolvers were later modified or removed from service—making surviving, unaltered examples especially collectible.
